Swim Ranch Classes

 

We offer five levels of instruction: Waterbabies, Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Senior.

Each class is taught by one instructor and an instructor’s helper.

Waterbabies

Our goal is to provide a gentle introduction to the water, allowing parents to become comfortable working with their children, ages 6 months – 4 years old.

 

Class Times
Option 1: Mon.-Fri. mornings for 1 hour each day.
(5 hours of instruction)
Option 2: Five Sat. mornings in a row for 1 hour each day.
(5 hours of instruction)

 

  • 9 AM: 3-4 year-olds
  • 10 AM: Under 2-1/2 year-olds
  • 11 AM: Combined class (Any 6 month to 4 year-old)

 

Important: A parent will be in the water with the waterbaby.

Note: Swim Buoy (available at Swim Ranch) and swim diapers are required.

 

For the best learning environment we suggest:
  • Boys – Swim trunks above the knee
  • Girls – one-piece suit, hair ties
  • Competitive style suits available at several local stores.
  • Swim caps available at Swim Ranch.

Beginner – Lane 1

 

Class Times
Mon.-Fri. afternoons, 1 hr. each day.
(5 hours of instruction)

Classes begin on the hour at:
12, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 PM

 

Registration Age and Skills Required
  • Swimmers must have had their 4th birthday.
  • Must be willing to go into class and the water without a parent.

 

For the best learning environment we suggest:
  • Boys – Swim trunks above the knee
  • Girls – one-piece suit, hair ties
  • Competitive style suits available at several local stores.
  • Swim caps available at Swim Ranch

Lane 1 #2

Novice – Lane 2

 

Class Times
Mon.-Fri. afternoons, 1 hr. each day.
(5 hours of instruction)

Classes begin on the hour at:
12, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 PM

 

Registration Age and Skills Required
  • Swimmers must have had their 4th birthday.
  • Must like to go underwater and get face wet.
  • Must be able to dog-paddle (keeping head above water and moving arms and legs) for a minimum of 5 yards without wearing a lifejacket, floaties, buoy, or using any other type of assistance.

Lane 2 #2

Intermediate – Lane 3

 

Class Times
Mon.-Fri. afternoons, 1 hr. each day.
(5 hours of instruction)

Classes begin on the hour at:
12, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 PM

 

Registration Skills Required
  • Be able to swim 25 yards without any help…even if it isn’t pretty. 🙂
  • Be very comfortable swimming around in the deep end.

Lane 3 #3

Senior – Lane 4

 

Class Times
Mon.-Fri. afternoons, 1 hr. each day.
(5 hours of instruction)

Classes begin on the hour at:
12, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 PM

 

Registration Skills Required
  • The Senior Lane is only available for swimmers who have passed our Intermediate-Lane 3 class.
